The total benefits package is valued at about 43 percent of your salary. For example, if your salary is $30,000, your total benefits are equivalent to an additional $12,900 bringing the total value of your compensation to $42,900.

  • 12 paid holidays per year

  • 15 annual leave days (18 after 5 years of continuous state service and 21 after 10 years continuous state service)

Each Plan offers a Consumer Choice Option (CCO), which allows you to nominate a provider who is not participating in the network so that benefits are paid at the In-Network rate

Newly hired employees select their health and flexible benefit options for the current plan year upon hire. Benefits for subsequent years are selected during an Open Enrollment period occurring once a year in the fall for benefits beginning the following calendar year.  Current employees may be allowed to make changes during a benefit plan year if employee experiences a qualifying status change (i.e. marriage, divorce, birth or death of dependents, etc.) by notifying the Human Resource Office within 30 days of the event.
