Prom season is here.  The Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD) is reminding parents and prom-goers to hire only limousine carriers that are licensed by the Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS). “Prom night is one of the most memorable moments in high school, and we want to make sure that everyone gets to the event safely,” said Major Johnny Jones, commander of the DPS Motor Carrier Compliance Division.

“Before you hire a company’s services, please check out the limousine carrier and party bus list on the DPS Web site to see if a company is a licensed to operate in Georgia,” Major Jones said. If the company does not appear on the list, the company is not licensed to legally operate a limousine or bus service in this state. “Limousine companies and bus carriers that are not listed on our Web site are not authorized to operate in Georgia. Do not hire them, and report unlicensed companies to the Department of Public Safety,” the major added.
