- On Saturday, June 25, 2016, at approximately 8:25 p.m., the Georgia State Patrol, along with Gainesville Police Department and Hall County Sheriff’s Office, were conducting an Operation Rolling Thunder road check with the Governor’s Office of Highway
The July Fourth holiday travel period will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 1, and end at midnight on Monday. “State Troopers are preparing for full patrols during the peak travel times,” said Colonel Mark W.
The Georgia State Patrol is currently investigating a fatal crash on I-16 near MM 155 in Chatham County. Troopers were dispatched to the crash at approximately 5:55 a.m. The crash involved two passenger vehicles.

The Memorial Day holiday travel period begins this weekend and signals the beginning of the summer travel season. The 78-hour holiday travel period will begin Friday, May 27, at 6 p.m. and end at midnight on Memorial Day.
(FORSYTH) – On April 16, 2016, 30 newly graduated troopers reported to their assigned posts throughout the state of Georgia. This is the 97th Trooper School for the Georgia State Patrol.
Today, TEAM Georgia partnered with the Georgia State Patrol to remind partygoers to not drink and drive this St. Patrick’s Day during a press conference at Meehan’s Public House at Atlantic Station.
“Make safety a priority. Driving impaired is dangerous and not worth the risk of killing yourself or someone else,” said Colonel Mark W. McDonough, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Public Safety.
