Christmas Holiday Period Traffic Count from the Georgia State Patrol

The final Christmas holiday period traffic count is:

3,325  Crashes

   868  Injuries

       24  Fatalities

              24  Fatal Crashes

Fatal crashes have been reported by: Bibb Co. S/O, Canton Police, Clayton Co. Police, Coweta Co. S/O, DeKalb Co. Police (2), Resaca P/D, Richmond Co. S/O (2), and the Georgia State Patrol posts in Albany, Athens, Conyers (2), Cumming, Cuthbert, Jasper, LaFayette, Rincon, Sylvania, Tifton, Villa Rica (2), and Waycross (2).

The holiday traffic count is a joint safety initiative of the Georgia State Patrol and the Crash Reporting Unit of the Georgia Department of Transportation.  The holiday count is updated every six hours during the holiday periods for Memorial Day, July Fourth, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
