Final Labor Day Holiday Traffic Count from the Georgia State Patrol

Traffic crashes across Georgia over the 78-hour Labor Day holiday weekend claimed the lives of nine people.  The holiday period began Friday at 6 p.m. and ended at midnight Monday.  Here is the final holiday traffic count for the 78-hour period:

Fatal crashes were reported by Cobb Co. Police and the Georgia State Patrol posts in Conyers, Gainesville (2), Jasper, Marietta, Milledgeville, Thomson, and Waycross.

The holiday traffic count is a joint safety initiative of the Georgia State Patrol and the Crash Reporting Unit of the Georgia Department of Transportation.  The holiday count is updated periodically during the holiday periods for Memorial Day, July Fourth, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.

The Thanksgiving holiday travel period begins Wednesday, November 25 and ends at midnight Sunday, November 29.
