The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) oversees the day-to-day operation of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police Division (CPD) and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). We currently have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Business Support Analyst 2 in the Administrative Services Division.

 

Aligned with the Garage, the Vehicle Support Services section maintains a computerized information system that provides costs, utilizations and management information on all vehicles owned by the Georgia Department of Public Safety.  Vehicle Support Services also handles claims for repairs to departmental vehicles involved in crashes, and orders departmental vehicle tags, titles, and fuel cards. This section is also responsible for the DPS Government Sales Program where DPS vehicles that have been retired from service and are deemed to meet a fair, good, or excellent standard are offered to other law enforcement and publicly funded agencies.  DPS vehicles that do not sell are publicly auctioned along with other DPS vehicles meeting a less than fair condition standard and those that are inoperable due to mechanical failure or accident damage.

 

Critical Responsibilities:

Performs data analysis on current operations of a project, program, agency, or function.

 

Candidate must have the ability to communicate/coordinate effectively with other departments, divisions, outside agencies and vendors to address business issues.

A typical workday includes, but is not limited to:

  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes programmatic and operational data.
  • Creates and maintains databases of requests or statistical data for future reference.
  • Evaluates data for quality and completeness. 
  • Prepares reports and makes recommendations or determination based on analysis.
  • Responds to routine requests for data.
  • Creates and maintains a high-performance environment characterized by positive leadership and a strong team orientation. 

 

Selected applicant must pass a pre-employment background investigation. This includes a review of criminal, driver’s and credit history. No polygraph examination is required for this position.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience related to area of assignment. Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.

 

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience providing reports based on statistical data.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Outlook and ARI.  
  • Experience conducting record audits.
  • Extensive experience in customer service with advanced interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience meeting time-sensitive deadline requirements.
