CAD/RMS Administrator (Department of Public Safety – Technology)

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) oversees the day-to-day operation of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). We currently have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a CAD/RMS Administrator in the Technology Section of the Department of Public Safety.

The Technology Section provides service and support to all DPS personnel in areas utilizing technology in communications and computer services.

The CAD/RMS system is the largest system utilized by the Department and touches the largest population of our workforce. The primary responsibility of this position is the administration and maintenance of the CAD/RMS system. The CAD/RMS Administrator will be responsible for resolving issues reported by users, managing user names and passwords and changing permissions when necessary due to promotions, transfers, etc. They will also update global configurations within the software, and coordinate with SmartCop to modify the system to meet agency needs.

The critical responsibilities of the CAD/RMS Administrator include the following:

  • Inventory management of equipment used to access and operate the system.

  • Coordinate with GCIC regarding overall operation of the CAD/RMS.

  • Support DNR with end user assistance to their personnel.

  • Serve as a liaison with SmartCop and the end users of our agency.

This position provides for a healthy work/home life balance with working hours on Monday thru Friday with nights and weekends off.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience OR Two years of experience at the lower level (ITP060) or position equivalent.
