Pay Grade F- Job Code GST120

Salary minimum: $22,519.63

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) oversees the day-to-day operation of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). We currently have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Customer Service Rep 1 in the Safety Net Unit of the Motor Carrier Compliance Division.

The Safety Net unit is responsible for handling all commercial vehicle driver inspection reports generated by MCCD officers.  The Safety Net Unit also handles the import and export of  inspection reports to the Federal MCMIS (Motor Carrier Management Information System) database.  In addition, the Safety Net Unit houses all crash data involving commercial motor vehicles. 

Applicants must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically including intermediate to advanced level proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook. 

Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:

  • Works and communicates with the general public, internal customers and/or external customers to provide information and services targeted to meet customer expectations.

  • Researches and/or resolves program or client issues or questions.

  • Provides assistance and problem resolution to claimants, employers, staff, other agencies, and/or the general public.

  • Conducts research to compile information needed to generate reports, complete projects and accurately respond to questions and concerns.

  • Analyzes problems, questions, issues, etc. and develops and reports recommendations for resolving them.

Minimum Qualifications: 

High School Diploma or GED AND Six months of experience handling customers questions, complaints and/or providing information.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in an office and customer service setting.
