Payroll Specialist (SP)- Job Code: 41201

Pay Grade: 17- Headquarters

Salary minimum: $43, 063.23

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages payroll operations and related transactions for a large unit, agency or program. Administers and interprets policies and government regulations, and advises management on law changes or proposed legislation affecting payroll processes. Supervises and plans work of assigned staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in related field and four years of payroll or related accounting experience OR Bachelor’s degree in a business related field and Two years of accounting related or payroll experience OR Six years of payroll or related accounting experience with at least one year experience as a supervisor over payroll functions OR One year at the lower level or position equivalent (FIP042).

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 4 years of experience using PeopleSoft HCM (Teamwork’s)
  2. Ability to reconcile health or flex statements monthly using excel
  3. Knowledge of processing W-2’s for a large state agency.
