Pay Grade – F Job Code –ITT041
Salary minimum: $22,519.63
The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) oversees the day-to-day operation of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). We currently have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Telecommunications Tech 2 in the Fleet Services Unit of the Administrative Services Division.
DPS operates a full service, fleet installation facility at its headquarters location in Atlanta. Fleet Services is responsible for new equipment inventory, emergency vehicle upfitting and equipment repairs for all Department of Public Safety vehicles. In addition, Fleet Services also performs vehicle surplus, vehicle routine preventative maintenance, and operates a wrecker service.

A typical workday includes, but is not limited to:
- Installation of emergency vehicle equipment to include: mobile radios, emergency warning lights, push bumpers, prisoner partitions, antennas, vehicle repeaters, in-car camera systems, docks and printers.
- Utilizes checklists (new car checklist, new car install checklist, and repair checklist) to ensure repairs and installations have been inspected and operating properly before the vehicle is released to the customer.
Performs preventative maintenance on mobile radios and vehicle warning equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED AND One year of experience in customer service or providing information to the public.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the installation of aftermarket 12V vehicle accessories and troubleshooting.
Experience in mobile radio installation and troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of 12V electrical systems and components.
