Job Vacancy Announcement- Business Support Analyst 1

Excess Property

Location: Headquarters

Job Code: GSP130

Pay Grade: J

Salary Range: $40,000.00- $50,000.00

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) oversees the day-to-day operation of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police Division (CPD) and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). We currently have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Business Support Analyst 1 in the Excess Property Unit.

Aligned with Procurement, the Excess Property section uses a computerized information system to obtain multiple quotes for items that can be purchased through the 1122 Procurement Program. After determining the lowest price supplier, Excess Property creates an 1122 Program quote to return to the requesting agency. Requestors can be internal or external (other law enforcement state agencies, counties, and cities). For external customers, Excess Property creates a requisition in TeamWorks Financials, then Procurement creates a Purchase Order (PO). Internal customers create their own requisitions. For both internal and external customers, POs are sent to Excess Property for dispatching to suppliers. Excess Property checks the status of outstanding POs with suppliers for both internal and external customers. For external customers, Excess Property enters receipts for goods in TeamWorks Financials after the external customers acknowledge receiving the goods. Internal customers are responsible for entering receipts for goods as items are received. Excess Property signs off on supplier invoices and forwards them to DPS Accounting for payment. Excess Property makes copies of checks and forwards original checks to DPS Revenue. Once a month, Excess Property holds a training session for law enforcement agencies who are interested in the 1122 Program.
