The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) oversees the day-to-day operation of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police Division (CPD), and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). We currently have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Business Support Analyst 1 in the Fleet Services Unit.

 

Aligned with the Garage, the Vehicle Support Services section maintains a computerized information system that provides costs, utilizations and management information on all vehicles owned by the Georgia Department of Public Safety. 

 

Critical Responsibilities:

Perform the intake of new vehicles to include inspection for damage upon delivery, assign permanent numbers to vehicles for proper tracking throughout the vehicles service life, and perform vehicle issuances daily.  Schedule vehicle receiving and issuance.  Arrange transport of resident workers and track their work hours for payroll.  Obtain and maintain a certification for onsite fueling station.

A typical workday includes, but is not limited to:

§  Intake of new vehicles from state contracted vehicle dealers.

§  Schedule new/reissue vehicle issuances.

§  Inspect new vehicles upon delivery for damages.

§  Assign a permanent number to each new vehicle.

§  Ensure all paperwork is processed and sent to Accounting for payment.

§  Arrange for pickup and return of resident workers and track their work hours for Payroll.

§  Initiate and update work orders for all Garage repairs.

§  Order shop and vehicle supplies as needed.

§  Check onsite fuel tank level daily and reorder fuel as needed.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience related to area of assignment. Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.

 

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

§  High level of customer service.

§  Organizational skills.

§  Ability to establish and maintain a calendar for scheduling.

§  Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
