The total benefits package is valued at about 43 percent of your salary. For example, if your salary is $30,000, your total benefits are equivalent to an additional $12,900 bringing the total value of your compensation to $42,900.

Newly hired employees select their health and flexible benefit options for the current plan year upon hire. Benefits for subsequent years are selected during an Open Enrollment period occurring once a year in the fall for benefits beginning the following calendar year. Current employees may be allowed to make changes during a benefit plan year if employee experiences a qualifying status change (i.e. marriage, divorce, birth or death of dependents, etc.) by notifying the Human Resource Office within 30 days of the event.
