False E-Mail Circulating on New Traffic Laws

An e-mail is circulating around the country listing several traffic laws that have supposedly taken effect in Georgia and other states on July 1 related to the use of carpool lanes, incorrect lane changes, cell phone use, driving on the shoulder, and DUI.  The e-mail also lists fines for the violations. 

The first line of the bogus e-mail is:

Please be aware of the following new driving laws that the police will be ticketing drivers for. Most will not issue warnings for these offenses.

                   1. Misuse of the carpool……

Information contained in the e-mail is false and as it spreads among e-mail users is being adapted for different states, most recently Georgia.
