Hometown: Sr. Trooper Fernandez is originally from Havana, Cuba (via Miami, Florida).
Career before DPS/GSP: He served as a Deputy Sheriff for Houston County Sheriff's Office
Reason for becoming a Trooper: Sr. Trooper Fernandez realized that people looked up to troopers and viewed becoming one as a prestigious opportunity to serve the public.
Trooper School: 65th Trooper School, November 1991.
Professional Goal: Sr. Trooper would like to retire, at least, as a Troop Commander.
Personal Goal: He wants to live up to the expectations of what the citizens of Georgia view as an outstanding state trooper.
Spare time: Sr. Trooper Fernandez enjoys fishing.
Family: He is married with three children.
