EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2026: Maximum Rate Tariff No. 1 for Intrastate Rates and Charges Applying to Nonconsensual Vehicle Immobilization
On December 11, 2025, the Board of Public Safety voted upon and approved the adoption of Georgia Department of Public Safety Maximum Rate Tariff No. 1 pertaining to Intrastate Rates and Charges Applying to Nonconsensual Vehicle Immobilization, which Tariff shall take effect on January 1, 2026.
This tariff governs all charges and conditions related to the immobilization (booting) of vehicles conducted without prior consent of the vehicle’s owner or operator, where such immobilization is authorized by a property owner or authorized agent and subject to the requirements of HB551 and implementing regulations.
This tariff is promulgated pursuant to Georgia House Bill 551 (2025) and any rules adopted by the Department of Public Safety under its authority.
