The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) oversees the day-to-day operation of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). We currently have an opening for a MCCD Compliance Specialist 1 in the UCR/GIMC section of the Motor Carrier Compliance Division.
The MCCD UCR Compliance Specialist assumes the ongoing responsibility for personally administering the audit function of the Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) Program for the State of Georgia. This registration program encompasses commercial motor vehicles, commercial carriers, freight brokers, freight forwarders, and commercial vehicle leasing companies. In promoting and enforcing compliance with the applicable laws and regulations, the Investigator acts independently within general program objectives.
Critical Responsibilities:
- Perform audits in Motor Carrier Registrations
- Maintain audit logs
- Meet required mandatory Unified Carrier Registration Audits deadlines
- Reconciles motor carrier registered vehicles, accounting data and transactions
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND one year of related experience OR High school diploma or GED AND two years of related experience. Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience with the administration of the Unified Carrier Registration Program.
- Previous experience with program audits, reconciliations and collections.
