SFC Nikki R. Renfroe

Position:  Post Commander, Post 2 - LaGrange

Hometown:  SFC Renfroe is originally from Milledgeville, GA. and currently lives in Jonesboro, GA.

Career before DPS/GSP:  She served as a dispatcher with the Milledgeville Police Department while attending college at Georgia College in Milledgeville. She was later hired with GSP as a radio operator.

Reason for becoming a Trooper:  After about a year working around law enforcement, she noticed that she had never seen a female trooper and wanted to find out more about the opportunities for women with the State Patrol. Once she discovered that female troopers were scarce, she knew what she wanted to do and that it would be challenging. She now has a rewarding career with the State Patrol, has greatly surpassed many of her career goals and is now setting more goals and taking the necessary steps to accomplish them.

Trooper School:   67th Trooper School, October 1995.

Career Milestones :

- Hired as a Radio Operator with GSP, 1994
- Graduated from 69th Trooper School, 1995
- Worked as Trooper and Trooper First Class, Post 20 - Dublin and Post 33 - Milledgeville, 1995-1999
- SCRT III - eventually promoted to Corporal, 1999-2000
- Recruiter for GSP Recruiting Unit, 2000-2002
- Joined Crisis Negotiations Team as a part of SWAT, 2001-Present
- Promoted to Sergeant at Post 24 - Newnan, 2002-2003
- Promoted to Sergeant First Class (Post Commander) at Post 2 - LaGrange, 2003-Present

Professional Goal:  SFC Renfroe would like to obtain any position where she is afforded the opportunity to shape the future of the Patrol by adding a fresh new perspective that would help to add more diversity, implement up-to-date technology, and effectively develop the careers of GSP personnel.

Personal Goal:  Her lifelong goal is to remain successful. She measures success by the number of people that she is able to positively influence and help along the way.

Spare time:  SFC Renfroe enjoys attending church, working out, and occasionally reading a good book. She also enjoys serving as a judge for various pageants.
