IMPORTANT WINTER WEATHER NOTICE: Executive Order 01.30.26.01

The Georgia Governor’s Office has issued Executive Order 01.30.26.01 in response to anticipated winter weather across Georgia. This order provides temporary regulatory relief from 49 CFR § 395 (maximum driving time) for drivers transporting goods and providing services in support of the winter weather response, including petroleum products, propane, and other heating fuels. The order also authorizes temporary size and weight increases for commercial motor vehicles providing emergency relief support; carriers operating under these size and weight allowances are required to obtain a permit. Carriers should refer to Executive Order 01.30.26.01 for specific details regarding the authorized allowances and permit requirements.

Oversize permits may be issued by the Georgia Department of Public Safety during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.), Monday through Friday, by calling (844) 837-5500 or through the Georgia Permitting and Routing Optimization System (GAPROS) online portal at https://www.gaprospermits.com. If a carrier experiences difficulty obtaining a permit, they may contact the DPS Permit Office at (404) 624-7258.
