The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) oversees the day-to-day operation of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police Division (CPD) and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). We currently have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an Equipment Ops Manager in Support Services.
Support Services offer a full array of services including planning, directing, managing, coordinating, and supervising the programs for acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement and disposal of fleet vehicles.
Is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating the inventory of fleet parts and equipment purchases to ensure proper stocking levels for the Department's vehicle upfitting plan. Performs other duties as assigned.
A typical workday includes, but is not limited to:
§ Receives, unpacks, and stores fleet parts and supplies. Verifies shipments for appropriate quantity and quality using purchase orders, invoices and packing slips.
§ Responsible for acquiring and distributing the correct quantities of equipment to vendors as it relates to emergency vehicle upfitting.
§ Organizes and arranges warehouse stock to ensure accessibility and orderliness.
§ Monitors and maintains a variety of manual and electronic records.
§ Prepares periodic, special, and perpetual inventories of stock.
§ Operates appropriate equipment, including forklift and commercial motor vehicles.
§ Tracks orders as required and investigates problems.
§ Forecasts future needs related to equipment usage.
§ Sign-off on deliveries, makes copies and maintains logs.

High school diploma or GED AND Four years supervisory experience in an equipment management related area.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Advanced experience with Excel, PowerPoint, TeamWorks (PeopleSoft)
- Experience conducting equipment and parts audits
- Experience in warehouse operations
- Work experience with emergency vehicles and equipment
