DPS Coordinates 40th Wave of its Multi-Agency Crime Suppression and Street Racing Enforcement Detail
(ATLANTA, GA) – Over this past weekend, Feb. 12-13, the Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) coordinated the 40th wave of its multi-agency crime suppression detail in Atlanta. The multi-agency detail includes the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD), Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Department of Community Supervision (DCS), Cobb County Police Department (CCPD), and the Atlanta Police Department (APD).
Troopers from GSP worked in conjunction with Officers from CCPD to arrest a high-level member of the criminal street racing community. During this arrest, personnel from GSP also recovered a 15-year-old juvenile who was reported as a missing person on January 31, 2022. The criminal street racing suspect was charged with multiple violations and the juvenile was turned over to the reporting agency.
