Tommy Waldrop Promoted to GSP Commanding Officer

(ATLANTA)—Tommy Waldrop from Franklin County has been promoted to the rank of Major in the Georgia State Patrol effective August 1. In his new capacity, Major Waldrop is responsible for the field operations of the Georgia State Patrol, including the 51 GSP posts across the state, as well as the Criminal Interdiction Unit (CIU), Implied Consent Unit, SWAT, GSP Dive Team and the Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT).

Georgia School Buses Ready for the Start of the New School Year

As school systems across Georgia begin preparing for the new school year, officials with the Georgia Department of Public Safety’s Motor Carrier Compliance Division say they have completed their annual school bus inspections and the buses are ready to resume their normal operations.
